THE LARGE FAMILY LOOKING FOR GOOD VALUE All the tips for visiting Annecy without breaking the bank

For the best value come for a weekend in May, June or September to enjoy the swimming pools, the sun and the large playground at prices four times lower than in the height of summer.
You can rent a COSY 2 or 3 bedroom mobile home from €150 for the weekend or pitch a tent on our grassy pitches for around €40 per night

Stays are also cheaper until mid-July in rentals or on pitches.

Remember to take your balls, ping-pong rackets and your bicycles, especially those of the children who will be able to ride independently in the campsite.

We guarantee you a 100% disconnected weekend!

Here are our ideas of things to do for a large family without breaking the bank.

Reserve Naturelle du Bout du Lac

SHORT TRIP PROGRAM Saturday morning

Walk to the nature reserve just by the beach at Doussard (1.7 km from the Campsite-2h round trip).

Easily accessible for toddlers because it is flat.
A turret in the middle of the reserve provides a nice view of the lake and will motivate little explorers.

The best idea is to park in the free car park of the Reserve behind Bob Pizza.

Short trip for a large family Samstag Nachmittag

Take full advantage of the campsite facilities: swimming pools, slides, whirlpool baths, playground, multisports pitch, the children won't want to stop!

At the end of the afternoon, head for the Col de la Forclaz (Montmin) 20 minutes by car.
Park at the pass and walk up to the paraglider’s take off  point for a magnificent view of the lake. 30 min AR.
It's a bit steep, but worth it. On the way back, you can have an aperitif or eat in one of the 3 restaurants on the pass: La Ferme (perfect with young children), La Pricaz or Edelweiss.

The comparison quality/panorama/price is correct.

cascade angon

Sunday: Short hike to Angon

Short hike to the Angon waterfall (10 min from the campsite by car).

At the top you’ll find the magnificent Angon waterfall - the motivation for everyone to do this short walk!

There are 3 different routes of differing steepness, but the path is family friendly and safe.
However, beware of slippery rocks. Cables have been installed to hold on to and a fence prevents falls.
It is an interesting walk that appeals to children, it motivates little adventurers to climb and hang on to the cables.

About 2 hours round trip.

Program of a one-week stay for the large families looking for good value: Day 1: Beach day in Doussard.

In the morning, take advantage of the cooler weather to visit the Bout du Lac Nature Reserve, one km from the campsite.
Right next to it is the large beach of Doussard.

The best idea in summer is to go there with the free shuttle that passes in front of the campsite. It saves you a day of parking at the beach.

In the afternoon, there is no shortage of fun at the free and supervised beach of Doussard.
It has a well-defined paddling pool, a diving platform and a large basin. Beware of sensitive feet: the ground is made up of pebbles.
Have fun on the lake by renting a pedalo with slide for an hour. Rental 1 hour €20 for 4.

Day 2 : Enjoy our water parks at will!

Take advantage of the campsite's swimming pools, its friendly bar, the playgrounds.

Each of our campsites has large swimming pools and water slides. For the little ones, paddling pools are accessible in all areas as well as water games. Your kids will have hours of fun. But the slides are also accessible to parents! Otherwise, the deckchairs facing the mountains will allow you to relax while staying nearby.

In high season, entertainment takes place from Monday to Friday evening and is free. Remember to download the Cool'n Camp app to be informed and receive updates of the program. Organize your week according to the activities that you like!

Day 3: Day in Annecy

The best way to go to Annecy in summer is to use the free bus from Duingt. The Line 50A-50B line takes you every 30 minutes: you avoid traffic jams and paying carparks in the city centre.
Duingt is 5km from the campsites. You can park your car at the beach car park, which is free of charge. On leaving the village of Duingt, turn left at the roundabout in the direction of Entrevernes. There is a grassy car park 50m away that is off-limits to camper vans.
Time table here.

You can also take the Y51 line, which stops at the "Chez Ma Cousine" restaurant in Doussard, less than 1km from the campsites on foot. One way costs €3.50 and timetables are here.

Maps are available at the “Bonlieu” tourist office. Annecy is very family-friendly with its many squares designed for children. Our advice: take a picnic to eat on the grassy areas of the Jardins d’Europe or the Pâquier then enjoy a good homemade ice cream from one of the many ice cream parlours in town.

Day 4: Easy family hike

Even if you are not the biggest walkers, there are a number of discovery hikes and walks suitable for children that we have found for you!
  • The tourist office of the Sources du Lac d'Annecy proposes a festival of huts throughout the whole summer season. A dozen unusual and playful constructions are built by student architects in the area. As a family you can go on small walks to discover the huts at your own pace and the walks are located not far from the campsite (between 1 and 15 kms maximum).
  • The Semnoz plateau. Here we are at the top of a small mountain named Semnoz, with mountain pastures, cows and cheese-making farms. You can get there by car or bus from Saint Jorioz and it is located approximately 50 mins drive from our campsite.  There are a number of walks to choose from, varying in length, with lovely views of Mont Blanc and Lake Annecy and Lac du Bourget, but with no particular difficulty. See more information about Semnoz here.

On the way back, you can reward the children with a 4-season toboggan luge run. Budget: €4/activity/person

Day 5: Experience a paragliding experience or a canyoning trip

The Col de la Forclaz is one of the most popular paragliding spots in the world. You can enjoy the view by driving there (Montmin) in 20 minutes. You park at the pass and walk up to the paragliding departure point for a magnificent view of the lake. 30 min AR. It climbs a little, but it is worth it. In the return, you can take an aperitif or stay to eat in one of the 3 restaurants of the pass: The Farm, the Pricaz or the Edelweiss. The quality/sight/price ratio is very good.

If you want to go paragliding, come and book at the campsite. The flight for children (4 to 11 years old) is possible in the morning for about 80€. For adults, it goes from 80€ to 120€ depending on the duration of the flight.

If your children are 6 or 7 years old, you can already do a canyoning initiation in family. Our partner proposes slides on natural toboggans, optional jumps, one hour of activities in a beautiful canyon of the Bauges. The price is 40€ per person.
This initiation is perfect for all those who want to try canyoning without being great sportsmen.
