Our beautiful region offers a wealth of opportunities to try out a wide range of sports.
Perfect for a holiday that lets you get away from it all and try out a wide range of activities. In May and June, Trails and races follow one another almost every weekend: Annecy Marathon and Triathlon, Maxirace, Trail de Faverges, Icebreaker, Half Iron triathlon de DOUSSARD.
Outside school vacations, the campsite is not fully booked, but all services are open: store, swimming pools, bar and restaurant. At our campsite, you can alternate between thrilling sports and relaxing in the pool.
Here are some ideas for short- and long-stay programs, so you don’t miss a thing and make the most of your vacation at Campings Annecy!
Short-stay program for a dynamic young couple
Day 1 :
After a busy week at work, you’ll be glad of a break at the campsite to clear your head.
Reception is open until 7.30pm. However, if you need to arrive a little later, please let us know so that we can find a solution. In the off-season (May, June and September), remember to reserve your fresh bread for Saturday morning.
Saturday morning: Cycling around Lake Annecy!
The tour of Lake Annecy is 40 km long and presents no major difficulties for adults. The cycle path will be completely finished by the end of 2022, but the tour is perfectly feasible now. On the west shore, the track is completely independent of the road and very busy. We recommend that you cycle around the lake in the morning, for peace of mind.
On the east bank, the climb from Talloires is substantial, but it’s the only one as far as Annecy!
Saturday afternoon: Swimming pool and gym at the campsite
Both our campsites have swimming pools heated to 23°c and gyms equipped with a variety of equipment. Access is unlimited and free for our guests.
Wakpala bar-restaurant
Relax at Wakpala, a magnificent restaurant in Duingt (5 to 10 minutes from the campsite by car) with its own private beach. We recommend an aperitif on the sofas by the lake, or dinner on site if you feel like it.
Sunday: Rafting!
Rentals depart before 10am. To make the most of the day, you can leave the mobile home as early as 8am and leave the keys with us at reception.
Depending on your itinerary, you can plan an unusual activity such as rafting or hydro-speed. Our two campsites have partnerships with a number of companies, so don’t hesitate to contact us for more attractive rates.
For rafting, we recommend the Isère river, around Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Aime-la-Plagne, as the route is rarely jammed with traffic. Various routes offer up to 3 hours of white-water rafting, or even a full day for the more adventurous.
One-week program for dynamic young couple
Day 1: Jogging, trail running or cycling
As a little refresher, the voie verte is quiet, especially in the morning. It’s flat, independent of the road and offers superb views. If you’re a cyclist, it’s 50 km from Annecy to Albertville, and we’re right in the middle of it. You can also jog along it, as long as you keep to the side.
For trail training, you can start gently with the Nanceau path just above Les Fontaines campsite, then run up to the Oratoire, which climbs quite steeply. For intermediates, head for Verthier and take the GR up to Col de la Forclaz.
Day 2: Tamié adventure trail
In the heart of Fort de Tamié25 minutes from the campsite above Faverges, you can spend a wonderful day at the accrobranches. The view of Mont Blanc from the last zip line is exceptional.
The red and black levels are tough, and promise a good thrill. The black pass includes a Via Ferrata section, where you move from trees to rocks using the same equipment.
Don’t hesitate to spend the day at the Fort and eat on site, at the snack bar or with your picnic, the place is far from the world and has an incredible view of Mont Blanc.
Day 3: Day trip to Chamonix-Mont Blanc
Chamonix and the cable car to the Aiguille du Midi is a must in Haute Savoie. We’d like to suggest a variation, with a hike to the Mer de Glace that’s a little off the beaten track.
Book your tickets a few days in advance on the Internet and leave as early as possible in the morning. The car journey passes through Megève and takes around 1h30.
On arrival in Chamonix, park at the first parking lot at the traffic circle on the right near the cable car.
The cable car ride to the Aiguille du Midi is in two stages. Climb to the top to enjoy the view, and before there are too many queues, experience the “Pas dans le vide” – a glass room with a plexiglass floor, located off the highest terrace of the Aiguille du Midi at an altitude of 3842 meters.
Then, on the way back down to the Plan de l’Aiguille station, leave the crowds behind and set off on the hiking trail to the Mer de Glace. The hike is not difficult and lasts about 2 hours.
Visit the Mer de Glace cave (220 steps…!) then return to the village on the Montenvers train. It’s an original way to visit Mont Blanc and avoid the queues on public transport.
Day 4: Hike to Lake Annecy’s highest peak, La Tournette
Access via RN 508 then D42, direction Col de la Forclaz. Before the Col, take a small road to the right just after the village of Montmin. You can park at the Pré Verel parking lot or directly at the Col de l’Aulp chalet.
Reserved for good walkers, this is a varied and magnificent hike. If you set off early in the morning, you’ll make the 3-hour climb in the cool of the sun, with a magnificent view over the lake. At the summit, a few cables and two ladders will take you to the top of the “armchair”: thrills guaranteed!
On the way back, stop for lunch at the Col de l’Aulps restaurant, a typical alpine farm that cooks its own produce. Don’t forget to book!
Day 5: Mountain bike down the Semnoz and visit Annecy by night
Le Semnoz is a mountain above the town of Annecy.
It’s a popular destination for family outings, as the summit can be reached by car. We advise you to drive to Annecy and park at the train station.
From here, you can take the S4 Annecy Semnoz bus line. It runs every weekend in June and September. In July and August, it runs every day. For €5, it takes you and your mountain bike to the summit. The descent by mountain bike is not very difficult, but it is winding and often shady over 1300 meters of ascent.
With a bike, we strongly advise you to take the bus at the station to ensure you have a seat.
You can spend the rest of the afternoon in Annecy, why not at the Marquisats or Impérial beach (paying, but with a nice diving board and fine sand).
In the evening, take time out for a romantic meal in the old town and stroll the streets after dark. Annecy has plenty of pretty little streets for two to lose themselves in.
