Le Semnoz Summer tobogganing and ski resort

Minikart and summer tobogganing at Semnoz

Le Semnoz has the advantage of being both a winter and a summer resort. If you book a mobile home rental at an Annecy campsite for a family holiday in Haute-Savoie, your children can enjoy the thrills and fun of an electric mini-kart or toboggan. The mini-karts are reserved for children aged 3 to 10. The 850 m summer toboggan run is open to children aged 3 and over. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Twists and turns, tunnels, tree crossings and jumps: thrills guaranteed! In fine weather, you can also take a stroll through the botanical and alpine gardens of the Maion du Semnoz, or observe deer and hinds in semi-liberty in the Grande Jeanne wildlife park. On site, you’ll find several picnic areas, restaurants at the foot of the slopes and high-altitude restaurants. Would you like to take home an unforgettable souvenir of your camping vacation in Haute-Savoie? Treat yourself to a paragliding experience and fly over Lake Annecy!

The Semnoz ski resort

Located in the Bauges massif, around 30 km from the Annecy Les Fontaines and La Ravoire campsites in Haute-Savoie, Semnoz is both a mountain at 1,700 m altitude and the ski resort that was created there in the late 1970s. Its ski area comprises 18 downhill ski runs (50 km), 9 cross-country ski runs (46 km) and a snowpark. In addition to skiing, you can also enjoy snowshoeing, tobogganing (640 m long run) and snowkiting, the snow-adapted variant of kitesurfing. Le Semnoz is a small, family-friendly, eco-friendly winter sports resort that attracts mostly local skiers. Known locally as “Le Balcon des Alpes”, it offers skiers hourly passes ranging from 2 to 8 hours to ski down beautiful slopes covered in natural snow, accessible to all levels. The resort is not equipped with snow cannons, and enjoys excellent snow cover, as do other resorts in the Chamonix and Mont Blanc valleys, such as La Clusaz in the Aravis. The resort’s 18 trails (6 red, 5 blue, 7 green) are linked by 7 drag lifts, 2 chair lifts and 1 cable car. A number of hiking trails leave from the resort, including the Balade trail (2 km) and the 3-lake pedestrian trail (6 km). You can take ski or snowboard lessons here, or spend your day hurtling down the slopes at your leisure on the lifts or the ski lift. You can even build sleds and have fun with the whole family on the snow front at the bottom of the slopes!
