Abbey and Fort of Tamié Culture & Adventure

The Notre Dame de Tamié abbey is a Cistercian monastery which was founded in 1133 and is famous for the Tamié cheese factory. Close to the monastery is the Fort de Tamié, which was o,nce used to defend the Alpine valleys. Its architecture, the botanical trail, the magnificent viewpoints and its tree-top adventure park make it the ideal place to spend an afternoon out with the family.

The largest military building in the Combe de Savoie, the Tamié fort is freely accessible. Perched on a rocky outcrop, this fortified town from the late 19th century is a unique site, which offers a magnificent view of the Albertville valley. On site, you will enjoy 16 hectares of landscaped grounds to explore, a snack bar, botanical trails and marked hiking trails, 3 lookouts and an orientation table, rooms and underground galleries with free access. In the heart of the fort, the Acrofort adventure park offers 10 courses of different levels for families to enjoy themselves in a privileged setting. It includes a 300-metre-long zip line perched at a height of 70 metres.
